Rowan
Welcome to Rowan Class
Summer 2 here we come! It has been another action packed half term and once more it has been amazing to see the progress every child is making.
We have continued to work our socks off with our times tables and we look forward to showing off our knowledge in the Multiplication Check after half term – lots of practice in the holidays please! We have also been learning about decimals and money – we have lots of keen shoppers who are whizzes at estimating and making totals.
In our English lessons we have written an article debating whether children under 13 years old should have mobile phones....I’ll leave it to you to decide what they thought!
Our history topic has been back to Roman Britain, we have zoomed into what life would have been like, looking at evidence archaeologists have discovered and what we can infer about Roman life from the discoveries.
In music we’ve transported to Brazil each week whilst learning all about Samba music – it's been great fun to learn more about the Rio carnival and the importance samba music has.
In computing we have developed our creativity through editing digital photographs – cropping, zooming, changing the colour. Some of the creations have been amazing – some professional photographers in the making!
We’ve loved being scientists this half term, collecting and analysing data about plant and animal life, making predictions and conclusions from our findings.
We look forward to our final (I can’t quite believe it) half term in Rowan class and know that we will continue to go from strength to strength following our school rules – being ready, respectful and safe as well as modelling our school values – pride, achievement, resilience and kindness. Well done Rowan!
Listening to your child read at home, as well as reading with them, discussing the text continues to be really important to help them make progress and promote a love of reading.
